Bangladesh prime minister Tarique Rahman and Pakistan prime minister Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting on Thursday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting took place on the 34th floor of the UN Headquarters Secretariat Building, where the two leaders discussed various aspects of Bangladesh-Pakistan bilateral relations.
They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments, and explored potential areas of cooperation aimed at promoting the welfare of the peoples of the two countries.
During the meeting, the two prime ministers stressed the importance of advancing bilateral ties based on mutual respect, understanding and cooperation.
They also underscored the need to maintain regular communication and dialogue on issues of shared interest, according to the statement.
