Hasina from India instructs staged attack on Trump portraits for political gain, orders campus raids: Phone conversation

Bangladesh’s ousted dictator Sheikh Hasina, who fled the country amid mass upsurge on August 5 and was taking shelter in India, recently instructed Awami League’s supporters to stage an attack on the US president elect Donald Trump’s portraits while holding a procession in Dhaka city to gain her ill political motive and create unrest inside the country. She gave this order of sabotage to an unknown worker of the party while making a phone call with him from India. Audio record of this phone call has leaked and went viral on social media and reports already published regarding this planned sabotage.

Besides the attack plan on Trump’s portraits, Hasina also sought information from his party worker in a bid to conduct raids on the campus by Army.

Audio record of the leaked phone conversation is given below in English:

Unknown Person (UP): Let’s try to have good preparations and gather a large crowd for the rally on November 10.

Hasina: Set up a trap so that an attack is carried out on placards with portraits of Trump during the procession. Make sure to take photos of this attack. I will send these photos to Trump—I have a link and communication with him.

UP: We’ve already printed banners with your photo and Bangabandhu’s. Should we print new ones?

Hasina: No banners. Don’t use my picture—only Trump’s on the placards.

UP: So, we’ll use Trump’s photo on the placards instead of yours and Bangabandhu’s.

Hasina: Yes, assign people to take photos if Yunus’s supporters try to disrupt the procession. We’ll use those photos to tell Trump, “Look what Yunus’s supporters are doing by attacking your photos.” Do you understand?

UP: Yes, Apa.

Hasina: Make sure people holding Trump’s portrait are at the front of the procession.

UP: Yes, Apa.

Hasina: Everyone in the procession should stand on both sides of the road, carrying Trump’s portraits.

UP: Understood.

Hasina: If the interim government tries to interfere, make sure people are ready to take photos of any confrontation. Instruct the cameramen to do their jobs properly.

UP: Yes, we will assign cameramen specifically for that while others participate in the procession.

Hasina: Good. Then we’ll send those photos to Trump. Is that clear?

UP: Yes, Apa.

Hasina: Prepare for a massive turnout. It’s Noor Hossain Day, so include his portrait on the placards too. Use slogans like “Let democracy be free” and “Down with autocracy.” Now, Yunus is the real autocrat—he’s worse than anyone. He terminated the jobs of 250 sub-inspectors for trivial reasons.

UP: We’ll ensure a large crowd. If they see such a turnout, they won’t dare take any action. They’re already demoralized because Hillary lost the election.

UP: Was Hillary supposed to run again?

Hasina: No, it was Kamala Harris, supported by Yunus.

UP: Oh, I see.

Hasina: Kamala Harris didn’t pick Hillary for the race because she doesn’t like her. But she’s close friends with Yunus. I know this. Now, just follow my instructions.

UP: Yes, Apa.

UP: By the way, Chhatra Dal put up posters in the dorms at Dhaka University for National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Later, Yunus’s supporters (students) chased Chhatra Dal workers and held a procession against them. Afterward, they told the university administration that they fear Chhatra Dal just like Chhatra League.

Hasina: What’s happening in the other dorms?

UP: Students from other dorms complained to the proctors, saying they fear both Chhatra Dal and Chhatra League equally. They don’t want politics on campus and questioned why Chhatra Dal workers were putting up posters at night.

Hasina: If they’re cowards, they should leave campus. Why stay if they can’t handle it? Find out where they’re hiding their weapons in the dorms.

UP: Yes, Apa.

Hasina: We’ll conduct raids in the dorms—I’ll have the Army do it.

UP: Yes, Apa. Inshallah.

Hasina: Getting accurate information will make it easier. If we detain one or two of them, the rest will be easier to catch. Get me the details.

UP: Yes, yes.
