The submission of the investigation report in the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi has been deferred for the 130th time, with the court fixing November 5 as the next date.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam set the new date on Wednesday after the investigating agency, the Police Bureau of Investigation, failed to submit the report as scheduled.
Rafiqul Islam, a sub-inspector of the prosecution department, confirmed the matter.
The investigation report was scheduled to be submitted on Wednesday, but the PBI sought more time.
Sagar Sarwar, news editor of private television channel Maasranga TV, and Meherun Runi, a senior reporter at ATN Bangla, were murdered at their rented apartment in the capital's West Rajabazar area on February 11, 2012.
Their four-and-a-half-year-old son, Mahir Sarwar Megh, was present in the apartment at the time of the incident.
Following the murders, Runi's brother, Nowsher Alam Roman, filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
