The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has submitted a petition to the court seeking a travel ban and a block on the national identity card (NID) of Moazzem Hossain, former assistant personal secretary (APS) to Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain.
Md Akhtarul Islam, ACC deputy director and public relations officer, confirmed the matter on Saturday.
However, the court has not yet issued any directive in this regard.
Akhtarul said: “Moazzem Hossain is accused of amassing hundreds of crores of taka through abuse of power during his tenure as APS to Adviser Asif Mahmud, including alleged involvement in lobbying and tender manipulation.”
Following his interrogation on Thursday, the ACC decided to request a travel restriction and block his NID to facilitate further verification and investigation.
