Detectives arrested former Chattogram-3 (Sandwip) MP Mahfuzur Rahman Mita at Gulshan in the capital early Tuesday.
Detective Branch chief Md. Shafiqul Islam said the former MP was arrested from a house in the area.
However, the allegations against him could not be immediately ascertained.
